Later in his career, Jay participated in the Woodrose, Fry Street, Colorado Spring Youth Symphony, Masterworks, and Wheaton College chamber music programs.

Jay received a bachelor's degree in cello performance from Wheaton College, IL in 2024. While a student at Wheaton, Jay won first prize in the Wheaton College Concerto Competition, String Division, as well as first prize in the Chamber Music Competition.

Outside of Wheaton, Jay was awarded first prize at the Pikes Peak Philharmonic Youth Concerto Competition, second prize at the Colorado Spring Philharmonic Guild Young Artists Solo Competition, and received an honorable mention with the Loveland Orchestra.

Jay has served as principal cello with the Colorado All-State Orchestra, Wheaton College Symphony Orchestra, and the Masterworks Festival in South Carolina. In the 2024-25 season, Jay was an associate member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago and the associate principal of the Laporte County Symphony Orchestra in Indiana.

Through The Colorado Springs Youth Symphony and Wheaton College, Jay has toured both nationally and internationally, performing in venues such as Carnegie Hall and the Sydney Opera House.
