SAMPLE SCHEDULES
The Cascade Quartet Offers 1-3 day residencies for your community. A few examples of outreach offerings include working and performing within schools, libraries, and nursing homes. Each residency culminates with an evening performance. Below are examples of successful residency programs from previous years.
“Visual art” - 1 Day Residency*
Elementary school show
High school art class/interdisciplinary performance
Evening performance with student art display
“Written” - 2 Day Residency*
Day 1
Elementary school show
Visit middle/high school literature class: students create written response, poem, essay or stories
Family oriented concert “teaser” at local library
Day 2
Revisit literature class: share selected responses and perform music again. Cascade Quartet leads further discussion of music with students
Evening performance with selected written responses read aloud
“Music” - 3 Day Residency*
Day 1
Elementary school show
Rehearsal piece with choir or student ensemble plus Cascade Quartet
Community performance at nursing home
Day 2
Coaching or sectional in music class
Rehearsal piece with choir or student ensemble plus Cascade Quartet
Community art gathering: interactive music and visual art activity for all ages
Day 3
Dress rehearsal with student ensemble
Student art decoration activity for performance space
Concert “teaser” hosted by local business or sponsor
Evening concert featuring choir or student ensemble
*Residencies can also include morning or afternoon school outreach programs for K-12 schools.
